Most devotional jewellery shows a heart. This one shows a heart that has been opened.

Three elements, each carrying the argument: the flame of unspent love, the cross above it where that love was proved, and the horizontal cut of the lance wound - John 19:34, the spear that opened Christ's side. Behind them, engraved rays; around them, a ring of zircon catching real light where the engraving only suggests it.

Small enough to wear under a collar. Legible enough to be recognised when it isn't.
